Students were given the opportunity to shop at Publix using their math skills. Hale students were exposed to the many difficult decisions parents have to make each week while grocery shopping for their family. Students realized very quickly that math never goes away. It is a useful tool throughout life.

Hale Academy has partnered with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) and Creative Alliance Solutions sponsored by The Lindbergh Foundation of Seattle, Washington. Creative Alliance Solutions was founded and is headed by Erik Lindbergh, the grandson of the aviator Charles Lindbergh, with the sole purpose to create an environment of innovation and creative thinking for young people to be able to impact important issues facing the world today and in the future. Hale Academy was selected as one of six high schools in the nation to be part of this exciting and innovative partnership to work together with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach on the NASA Green Flight Challenge.
