Hale Academy is hosting a series of math workshops geared toward the parents of students in PreK4 through 5th grade. This is the first in the series. It is about how students are learning the “why” before the algorithm to gain a true understanding of math and not just a memorization technique.

Students were given the opportunity to shop at Publix using their math skills. Hale students were exposed to the many difficult decisions parents have to make each week while grocery shopping for their family. Students realized very quickly that math never goes away. It is a useful tool throughout life.
